It's a small world
Missa is a fellow cheer mom from Columbus Power Elite Cheerleading Gym. I recognized her when I saw her two twin boys running around during one of practices. Her husband taught my oldest daughter years ago when he coached T-Ball.. Now that Missa and I have reconnected, she altered my wedding dress and has allowed me the opportunity to photograph her and her gorgeous daughter, Indee.
Oh-no, not again!
If you read my last blog post, you might have seen that I shed a few tears while editing those photos. The same went for this session. I'm not sure why, but you can see how much Missa loves her (not so) little girl and apparently I am a sap who can't capture those feelings without crying like a big baby when I go through and edit pictures.
Like mother, like daughter.
You cannot convince me that these ladies are not the same person, just in different stages of life. They both share the perfect jaw-line, the straightest teeth and the most beautiful brown eyes. I am taken away by just how gorgeous they are!
Take my hand
Indee was surprisingly nervous about the photo shoot in the beginning. She started out very tense and uncomfortable. Luckily her mom and I were able to get her out of her shell after some coaxing and I think she almost had some fun there at the end.
Show me how you take a selfie
This has been my first experience with a pre-teen. As someone who frequently has to think about her age, (22? 24? uhhhh I was born in 93, I don't know) it was weird to think that Indee is only a smidge older than my eldest daughter. I realize that I am out of touch and far from being "in the know" about anything that the modern day pre-teen would be interested in, but I am thankful to see that kids still take photos that would match the aesthetic of our MySpace days. I wonder if Indee has ever even heard of Myspace. AOL Messenger? Be kind, Rewind? This girl really humbles me and reminds me that next year I will be...I don't even want to say it...THIRTY!
